Frequently Asked Questions
Is MontoEdu free to use?
Yes. The glossary, lessons, calculators, translation tool, and investing are all free.
Do I need to connect a bank account?
No. Calculators work with numbers you type in yourself, nothing links to a real bank, card, or brokerage account.
Is the Investing Lab real money?
No. The Investing Lab uses virtual cash so you can practice buying and selling before anything is real.
Does MontoEdu tell me which card, loan, or fund to pick?
No. Calculators and comparisons show the math for whatever you enter, they never recommend a specific product.
What languages are supported?
English, Spanish, Chinese, and Hindi, across the glossary, lessons, and translation tool.
What's the difference between the glossary and the Translate tool?
The glossary looks up a specific term, like APR or net pay. Translate takes a longer phrase, from a bill, lease, or offer letter, and rewrites it in plain language, linking back to any terms it recognizes.
How many calculators are there, and what do they cover?
8 tools covering credit card cost, loan payments, compound growth, savings goals, investment fees, budgeting, and side-by-side comparisons.
How is my progress tracked?
XP, levels, and daily streaks track activity across lessons, calculators, and practice trades, and badges mark milestones like finishing a Financial First.
Who is MontoEdu built for?
First-time earners, students starting a first job, anyone opening their first bank or credit account, or anyone who wants a straight answer about what a financial term actually means.
